The packaging is basic.
The phone connects to mac and immediately goes for its software upgrade (249Mb).
In the meantime the phone says Activation Alert. No Signal detected. Signal is required to complete activation.
Quick call to 1909 and we get that sorted - my old SIM is still active. Complete the switch of the call plans and done.

PS - person who helped me out @ 1909 was really helpful to deal with. She also said that they were still dealing with a backlog after the systems failure over the weekend (issue with power supply to servers) and mentioned as well that O2 were currently favoring new customer signups for iPhone over existing customer upgrades.
Now go download the iPint app. and pour yourself a cold one ;)

hiya paul
Much as i am tempted to spend ages browsing the app store I am stuck with installing basic stuff like password app, making sure my todo list (vitalist) works on Safari (it does) and then writing a research funding application for dbtwang.
maybe this evening :-)
