Listed below are links to weblogs that reference 3G iPhone, Friday 8am. Does this apply to Ireland?:

Not sure about Ireland but anyone hoping to get one at 8am in Britain is going to be disapointed; http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/05/veritas_rs_iii_4.jpg
I'm popping into the O2 Waterford store tomorrow, I'll ask what time on Friday and relate back.

Thanks Paul - in the meantime I had a wander into O2's forums and it is 9am! As I will be getting a lift into town it does not really matter much as that is unlikely to be at 8am :-)

I went in to pre order mine but the rules are different for the G3 model. You have to be eligble for an upgrade to get one or a new customer to o2... no amount or money or begging will change this. :-(

Yeah, popped into O2 Waterford and put my name down for Friday, she wouldn't say 8am but instead midday would be best. Hopefully the instore activation isn't a pain. Even with the iPhone 1.0 the O2 Waterford store was pretty clueless.
