People are People

Our communications issue (see my post here) resolved itself and we are back on track for a July launch.

The "take away" from it (those of you who have been to conferences in the US or listened to their podcasts will be familiar with that term!) is that business men and women should take it for granted that most people react as human beings when it is appropriate.

You will find that a business relationship that normally contains the to'ing and fro'ing of pitch, counter pitch and negotiation will rapidly be put to one side in favour of compassion and understanding if a party to the relationship needs space for an urgent personal issue.

And so (when appropriate) everyone should feel comfortable enough to temporarily ditch their business side and let their human side dominate. You will be surprised at how quickly your colleagues and business partners will accommodate this and be as supportive as you need.
