Kilkenny (and Majella Murphy) in the headlines!
Well - buried in the news-clippings on ENN anyway!
Kilkenny native Majella Murphy has reportedly become the first music artist to launch an album exclusively on a mobile phone. Singer-songwriter Murphy has preloaded her new album "Brave New World" onto the Sony Ericsson Z530i, which is available from O2 Ireland. The album, which includes three live acoustic tracks will not go on general digital release until July 2006.
Gotta say that I am expecting to see this mentioned on kenmc's blog - him being a card holding musican and one of the entrepreneurs behind kilkennymusic.com - get to it Ken :-)

How dare you beat me to it! Ah.. just joking, was out of the office since lunch time and never made time for the blog until this evening. Yet, looking around at other references I feel robbed. Utterly robbed! :)
I think its fantastic, a tremendous step in the right direction for Irish music and technology as a whole. I came across an Irish guy a year ago or so who launched an album on a USB key, but getting one on mobile is pretty nice going!

how are ye? yah, it's me, Majella...... I'm delighted you're liking what ye hear...it's a great boost for me. Sony Ericsson and 02 have given me a great opportunity here, and I'm quite blown away, to say the least....
