Bolero/Shrug

I have a light blue bolero/shrug I bought recently. I am a little unsure what I can wear underneath it.  Could you give me a few suggestions? Thanks Natalie

I mentioned shrugs a few weeks ago. They are so versatile. You could wear it with a simple white tee-shirt, or worn over a glam party dress or a cami-top in silver

Also light blues can look great with cream. These little shrunken cardigans are great worn casual or dressy a real key item for anyone’s wardrobe.

I hear a lot of talk this season about shrugs and I am a little confused. What is a shrug and any suggestions on when I would wear one? Aoife R

A shrug is a short top which usually has three quarter length sleeves and ties at the front. However there are various styles in the shops at the moment.

They are one of the key items for this season - very versatile. I noticed that Bay Trading in particular (downstairs in Goods on the High St) has a wide selection in stock. They had a petrol blue knitted one with tie front priced (€32), a very glam crocheted gold lame example priced (€35) and a delicate lace shrug in oyster pink with sequins (€32).

You will end up wearing your shrug with jeans and fitted tops and it will see you into the party season over a glam dress or satin camisole top. They are also ideal for women who don't like showing upper arms!
