I like to wear black trousers to work and during the winter I wear boots with them - however that will be too warm in summer. Where can I find some sturdy (i.e. not delicate) shoes that are comfortable to walk in? Thanks, Clare
Hi Clare,
There is a lot of new stock in the shops and I concentrated on flat and comfortable footwear as you mentioned.
I called into Kings Shoes on Parliament Street where they had a good choice in stock. From the very popular Gabor I spotted a pair of shoes with a nice low square heel in black leather price (priced €74.90). From the Sally O Hara collection I found a great pair of black leather pumps (which are very big this season) - they are a soft flexible style with a cross over strap and very cute (priced €60).
Also try on a pair of Clarks pumps - these are not your usual pumps as they have good support and would be comfy for all-day wear. They are in various shades, would also look good with skirts and jeans and price start from €35.
Finally I called into Grahams Shoes on High Street and saw a pair of black Hush Puppie pumps with a comfortable insole and a flexible outsole with little crossover straps (price €75).
As comfort is the main aim for you it is important to try on various styles. Your feet tend to swell slightly during the day due to the walking and standing that they endure and as a result you should try on shoes at the end of the when your feet are at their worst!

Best blog post title of the year.Great comments all around. I like how there are a variety voices coming through.

In the beautiful seasons of spring and autumn riding a bicycle to travel and appreciate the natural views is a wonderful experience.
