I have my debs coming up this year and I want to get a dress soon as I am away for most of the summer. And now is probably the time to do it as there will be a good choice in the shops. Can you tell me the shops in Kilkenny that sell debs dresses? Thanks Tara.
Hi Tara,
It's an exciting time for you and probably the first chance for a lot of girls to really push the boat out and glam it up. All the bridal shops I wrote about in Kilkenny in my column a few weeks ago also sell debs dresses. As you said Tara now is the time to start looking around - the shop owners.told me that a lot of girls have already made the very important purchase.
Cameo on Kieran Street (056 7765753) have a good selection and great colours. Fashion Depot on High Street (056 7765390) seems to be a popular choice for Debs with a great choice as ever. Jeutonic on the Parade (056 7723295) stock a large range of eveningwear all of which will have you looking very chic on your special night.
Finally you could check out Elegant Occasions, (056 7755567) which is located on the square in Callan – they also have a great choice of exclusive dresses in stock.
I think it's worth mentioning that all these shops will take the customers name, the style of dress and the name of their school to guarantee that two girls don’t end up wearing the same dress. I admire their diligence in doing this as it would spoil the evening if any two girls arrived in the same dress.
Also if you know of a good dressmaker you might be interested in getting your dress made. And think about a vintage piece which will be totally different - 50s style dresses are big now and old style Hollywood glamour is always in vogue. Have a look in Granny’s attic you might be surprised what you will find! Happy shopping and have a great time.

Hi girls,
Its becoming more and more difficult to find shops in Dublins city centre that specialise in evening wear. also you're reluctant to shop in places like Coast,Debanhams and Monsoon in case others turn up in the same..I`ve opened an evening wear shop in Powerscourt Townhouse(just off Grafton st,top floor beside the Design Centre)Prices range from €220-€490,sizes 4-26 and I`ve catalogues to browse through if you cant find what you want in store.I won't sell 2 of the same dresses to a school either, so i keep records.. defo worth a nose!!
Hope to see u soon,
Ursula

Hi Tara
I'm going to a wedding at the end of next week. Its a last minute thing would you be able to recommend a nice store for something for a wedding for an older lady?
Thanks
